Hack the Hat

Developed by a diverse international team, including CP members and others, the project invites participants to mentor Merlin Kepler, a wizard graduate, as he struggles to pass the evaluation of a magical AI screening hat. By modifying Merlin’s CV and observing how changes in factors like gender, age, and experience influence the AI’s decisions, players uncover the biases embedded in automated recruitment systems.Through its gamified approach, Hack the Hat not only fosters awareness of AI’s impact on job applications but also challenges visitors to rethink collaboration versus competition in achieving fairer outcomes.
